By entering the competition you agree to accept and be bound by the terms and conditions below.
Employees of NZPhotographer magazine, Excio, ATEED, Epson, Progear and New Zealand Photography Workshops, and their families, sponsors, agents or anyone professionally connected with the competition are not permitted to enter.
You don't need to be a resident or citizen of New Zealand to participate.
The Competition is open to amateur photographers (earning less than 25% of income from photography) aged 16-years or above at the time of entering the competition.
Entry is free. Photographers can enter up to 5 photos under any theme as an individual shot or as a photo story.
Only photographs taken in Auckland, New Zealand are accepted.
Copyright of all images submitted for this competition remains with the respective entrants. By entering the competition, photographers accept the terms and conditions and agree that their images can be broadcast via digital feeds or printed for physical events by ATEED, Excio or sponsoring organisations. Images remain the property of the photographer and the photographer agrees to grant ATEED and its competition partners the right to use the image for marketing purposes in print and digital formats for an unspecified length of time. No one is entitled to any fee for publication of a photograph, but the photographer will be formally credited when the photo is used. These images and names will be public to all.
Photographs must be original works by photographers. Photographs must not violate the rights of anyone else and must be suitable for viewing by all ages.
Late, illegible, incomplete, or corrupt entries will not be accepted. No responsibility can be accepted for lost entries and proof of transmission will not be accepted as proof of receipt.
Photographs must be saved as JPEG (.JPG) files, at a setting of 10 (100%) or higher; sRGB colour space, 8-bit.
Entries may include .mp3 files.
Title of the image must match the title in the form.
No watermarks / copyright units / borders / personal logos on images.
Minimum size 1100 pixels on the shortest edge.
Adjustments for exposure, white balance, contrast & levels are allowed.
Cropping is allowed.
Focus and exposure stacking, HDR, and stitched panoramas are allowed.
Removal or insertion of features and elements not in the original image is not allowed.
Judges have the right to request an original RAW file from finalists.
No parties will be responsible in any way for the publication of an entry that is subsequently found to be in breach of copyright. Any such entry will be immediately disqualified.
All entries must be received by 11.59pm NZT on the advertised closing date - 10 July 2019.
The winner will be announced on 1 August 2019 in NZPhotographer Magazine, on the website and on social media and contacted by e-mail and/or phone by 5 August 2019.
Prizes are awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd placings. Prizes are not negotiable; prizes cannot be transferred; prizes cannot be redeemed for cash.
Excio, NZPhotographer magazine, Sponsors, and Partners of the competition cannot be held responsible and will not be liable for any loss or damage of prize (in the case of physical products) if sent to winners outside of New Zealand.
The Judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
